Prayer Items December 19th, 2021

For Church Community
  1. As we journey toward Christmas, may we remember the message of hope. May God give us the opportunity to share God’s love with people.
  2. Pray that we will continue to contribute and make use of our God given gifts/talents to participate in blessing others as we strive to be a more inviting and welcoming church that points people to Jesus in the upcoming year.
  3. We are thankful that we are getting closer to the final inspection of the foyer renovation & AV upgrade project. Pray for the items that are outstanding and on back order.
  4. Pray for sister Xiu Qing Lin who will be baptized on Dec 26th. May God strengthen her faith as she takes this important step. Also, pray for those who are considering baptism.
  5. It has been a tough and uncertain year for us and it has impacted each of us in different ways.  May we continue to put our hope in Jesus to carry us through the rest of the year and next.
For God’s Kingdom
  1. We are thankful for the opportunity to bless our community through the Christmas hamper distribution and toy drive. As we continue with our upcoming 40th Anniversary “Blessed to Bless” initiatives, may God help us look beyond our building to our neighborhood to reveal God’s love. 
  2. As we wrap up 2021 and enter into 2022, let’s remember in our prayers our missionaries and ministry partners. We pray for their physical protection and a renewed sense of mission.
  3. As we strive to be a more welcoming and inclusive church, may God help us to make connections with people that are new to the country. Pray that God will move our hearts to participate and support the new comers, immigrants, neighbors and friends.
  4. As we continue to navigate through COVID–19, let’s pray for wisdom and be mindful to keep safe and healthy.
    a. Pray for our country and the world being stricken by Covid-19 and the new omicron variant.
    b. Pray for the families who have been impacted by the virus. Also, pray for God’s protection for those who have plans for travelling and visiting in the holiday season.
    c. Pray for the continuing development and distribution of the vaccine.
    d. Restrictions and guidelines are always changing, pray that we are able to navigate through the changes.
  5. During the time of Christmas season, may we embody the season of hope and we can reach out to the world.
    a. Pray for Food Banks in the city as they are under increasing pressures and facing unprecedented demand. Pray for caring and giving hearts.
    b. Pray for the hurricanes in the central US and a series of tornados that ripped through Kentucky and several Midwest states. Also, pray for eastern Indonesia being struck by a powerful 7.3 earthquake. Pray for God’s mercy and comfort. May God give them courage to face the long road of rebuilding ahead.
    c. Pray for the reconciliation and healing process with the indigenous community. Let us continue to be mindful, have a heart to learn, listen and take action as we support the healing of past mistakes.
    d.  Pray for the political unrest around the world. 
Congregational Needs
  1. Pray for our online Zoom EM prayer meetings on 1st , 3rd , & 5th Wednesday at 8 PM and that people will be encouraged to participate in them during this time of uncertainty in the world.
  2. Please remember in prayer our EM/YM Fellowships:
    Katalyst (High School) :Off night on Dec 24th
    Refresh (Young Adults): Off night on Dec 24th
    Philia (Junior High): Off night on Dec 25th
    May we continue to grow in our faith through these fellowships.
  3. Continue to pray for those who are sick, concerned about grandparents/ family members who are susceptible to the virus.
  4. Pray for those who are isolated and struggling personally. Also, for those who are stressed over work and studying from home.
Children Ministry
  1. Give thanks to God that provided us enough teachers for the new term Sunday School, help our kids experience God in study.
  2. Pray for Children Christmas celebration, may God lead our kids together to celebrate Jesus’s birthday, and share joy with others.
